Rehab Programs

Our Physical Rehabilitation team also provides:

Fit Club

A weight loss program for pets (dogs and cats) who are overweight or living with obesity. Fit Club incorporates a prescription diet with exercise in the Underwater Treadmill (2-3 times weekly), under the watchful eye of our Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. When a weight loss diet is combined with exercise, weight loss results are doubled, which will improve the quality of life and overall health of the pet.

Tripawds

A program for dogs and cats who have had an entire limb amputated. Research over the last decade has shown that the saying “pets do great on three legs” is actually false. Neel Veterinary Hospital has partnered with the Tripawds Foundation to provide:

Pawsthetics

Pawsthetics provides custom orthotic and prosthetic devices for animals. The most common indications for orthotic intervention are carpal hyperextension, cranial cruciate ligament rupture and an Achilles tendon injury. For prosthetics, the pet needs to have 50% remaining of the lower front leg (radius and ulna below the elbow) or the majority of an ankle in the lower back leg (calcaneous bone), for suspension (how the device stays on) and function.
