Neel Veterinary Hospital has board-certified veterinary specialists on staff to provide your pets with exceptional veterinary care and expertise. Along with our specialty veterinarians, we offer not only state-of-the-art equipment to help diagnose and treat your pet, but work cohesively to find the best solutions and treatments for your pet's ailments or illness.
In our case, we are proud to have specialists in both the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) — Dr. Deepan Kishore, and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) — Dr. Ellen Domnick.
Our specialists communicate promptly with your pet's primary care veterinarian after consultation or procedure to keep them apprised on the the status of your pet throughout the entire process. We provide you and your pet with knowledgeable and compassionate veterinary care while your pet is with us to alleviate stress and uncertainty during an often stressful time.
Advanced Training For The Best Care for Your Pet
A veterinarian who is board-certified has completed advanced training after veterinary school in their specific area of veterinary medicine. This training consists of a minimum of a 1-year veterinary internship followed by a 3-year residency program. During residency, the veterinarian must meet specific training and caseload requirements, as well as perform research that is published in a scientific journal. Finally, a veterinary specialist has to pass a rigorous examination process that evaluates his or her knowledge and skills in that specialty in order to be deemed board-certified or be called a veterinary specialist.
